The best way to get someone to do what you want is certainly not to insult them. Saying things like "your generation is killing the workplace" and all other forms of stereotypical nonsense will certainly not help people find common ground. When will horrible bosses learn? The answer: never or at least not until after they finally retire. For this employee, they had decided their workplace was too toxic and damaging to their mental health. When they decided to quit, they gave one week's notice, feeling that it was enough to finish up projects and help with the transition while also giving them a small break before beginning their next job.
