Dating apps have gained quite a reputation for punishing their users via their fierce algorithms, denying people the possibility to find pleasure and/or happiness. Instead, folk must prepare themselves for the arduous task that awaits them every time they open the app… it's hard to beat the algorithm, if not impossible. Its clever schemes are confusing, as in the beginning, it presents attractive, interesting people that you might say are your type. But as time goes on (ahem, within a few days) the number of cool people dwindles, and you are left to swipe, endlessly scavenging for that first taste of glory…In other words, good luck. Once you successfully match with someone relatively normal looking, you get unmatched, blocked, ghosted, stood up, or told you look like the troll from the first Harry Potter film. Ouch much? Yeah, your self-esteem is gonna take a blow, this app is not for the faint-hearted. This week I've rummaged around the r/Tinder subreddit to scout dating app fails, and let me tell you, the sub did not disappoint…For more fails related to the awkward world we call dating, check out last week's here.
