Living with cats is always a bit chaotic. Every once in a while, you'll be lying in your bed at night, trying to fall asleep, and you'll hear a noise - a random supposedly meaningless noise - and you will know, instantly, deep in your gut, that your cat licking the butter that you accidentally left out on the counter. Because that's what living with cats is like. Eventually, you get attuned to their chaos. Even if moments of it still take you off guard.
