HDDs are secondary storage in data centers using nearline HDDs. HDD unit shipments are down about 36% in 2022 versus 2021 and shipping capacity down about 12%. The LTO magnetic tape roadmaps projects up to 576TB tape cartridges sometime in the 2030s.
