Nearly HALF of drivers 'avoid using left lane' on smart motorways over crashing fears

A poll by the RAC found that more than 45 per cent of motorists 'frequently' or 'occasionally' stayed out of the lanes, with most saying they were worried about colliding with stationary vehicles.
