Soda (the drink) is so named because sodium salts within the water are used to reduce the liquid’s acidity and enable carbonation to happen more effectively. Perhaps the marketing team at Soda wants to tell us it reduces data acidity & improves its ability to fizz and bubble up towards useful apps.
