Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture Adapted To Highlight Declining Whale Population

In 1829 Felix Mendelssohn visited the Hebrides, a group of islands off the coast of Scotland. This trip inspired him to write his famous Hebrides Overture. Now, two Cambridge academics have adapted the piece to highlight the declining rate of the North Atlantic humpback whale.
