From Château Capitoul’s windows, the vineyards stretch out tidily as far as the eye can see. It’s autumn and the grape harvest is in full flow; the low-buzz of the tractors is pleasing to the ear. Above, in the cobalt sky, swifts and storks, have already begun to make their way south to Africa.
