SAVE $10: Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, and the Microsoft Store all had the Xbox Series S on sale for $289.99 as of April 29. That's about 3% off its $299.99 MSRP.If you've been following gaming console restocks, you probably know very well by now that the Xbox Series S isn't suffering from the same supply woes as the flashier Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The smaller, all-digital version of Microsoft's machine has been readily available at most major retailers for several months now — and if you keep a close eye out, you can even find it on sale from time to time. Actually, now is one of those times: As of April 29, the Series S was listed for $289.99 at Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, and in the Microsoft Store. That's $10 off its suggested retail price of $289.99, which works out to a 3% savings.

This isn't its best discount ever, to be sure — Woot briefly had it for $250 in February — but anything helps when it comes to purchasing big-ticket items like a next-gen console. Introduced alongside the Series X in November 2020, the Series S is a pared-down version of that flagship machine featuring 512GB of storage and a resolution cap of 1440p at 120Hz. It also scraps the disc drive, meaning you have to download your games and movies on it from the Xbox Store. All of that being said: Aside from the disc drive and a teensy bit of visual fidelity, you don't miss out on much by opting for the Series S."The pricier console is undeniably more powerful, but the user experience is nearly the same," said Mashable senior games reporter Adam Rosenberg.
