(April 01 15:00) I Can Has Cheezburger?
We all know the story– It's a tale as old as time! First, Dad doesn't want a pet. Then, the family gets a pet. Finally, Dad falls in love with the pet– go figure. It happened in my house with our chihuahua Peanut, and I'm sure it's happened to plenty of the rest of you too. We're not sure what it is about the transition from people dad to animal dad, but it usually comes with a lot of reluctance at first, and then a whole lot of love at the end. One Redditor this week was the perfect example of what we're talking about. Cat Daddy u/AdLocal3837 posted in the r/WhatsWrongWithYourCat subreddit a few days ago to gripe about his wife, and show off a picture of the family's gorgeous little void all swaddled in a blanket. It seems Mrs. AdLocal was poking fun at the cat– Holly– and Dad, because he pays so much extra attention to Holly now that the human kids are out of the house. Dad admitted it, his wife's not wrong, but he just had to wrap Holly up anyway: he was worried she might get cold! The trend of men becoming a "Cat Daddy" is nothing new. It was already ten years ago that Jackson Galaxy published his groundbreaking book of the same name, and more and more men are falling under that feline spell by the year. Or, at least, plenty of women want them to! Don't believe us? Just check out the comment section below this post. There were so many responses lauding OPs efforts as a cat dad, and so many more saying we need more cat daddies just like him!
