US jobless claims rise unexpectedly to 351,000 after falling to a pandemic low a week earlier 

Last week 351,000 people filed for unemployment benefits, a 16,000-person spike from the week before when 335,000 filed. At the height of the pandemic last year, about 6.1m claims were being made weekly.
