Australia Needs A Northern Base For Its New Nuclear Submarines

The Australian government last week announced it was canceling a $66-billion deal with the government of France to acquire a dozen new diesel-electric submarines and, instead, inking a new deal with the U.S. and U.K. governments to develop at least eight new nuclear-powered subs.
