Former commander of US forces in Afghanistan says withdrawal is 'catastrophic for the US'

President Joe Biden says approximately 5,000 U.S. soldiers will assist in the nation's evacuation from Afghanistan. Pentagon officials estimate that 30,000 people will need to be evacuated.
