The Straits Times Index notched gains for the fourth straight day, closing at 2,906.97 up by 43.96 points or 1.54%.
Its Asian peers also ended Thursday trade with modest gains amid the commotion in the US Capitol as pro- Donald Trump protesters sought to overturn election results in dramatic fashion.
Among the top gainers were Singtel with 4.35% or S$0.10 gain, DBS up by 3.46% or a S$0.87 increase, and OCBC Bank which went higher by S$0.23 or 2.28%.
On to Wall Street, most US stocks shrugged off the protesters to end the day's trading in the green.
