Japan’s Foreign Minister, Toshimitsu Motegi, completed a two day tour of Mauritius seeking a swift resolution to the Wakashio oil spill with a $300 million offer to Mauritius Government officials. This is a fraction of the damage caused and has been seen as an attempt to buy out further claims.
