YouTube, Gmail are down, time to panic (or grab a coffee)

Several major Google services are currently unavailable. At the time of writing, Gmail and YouTube are returning an error message on access. We've tried the services from several geographic locations and gotten the same result.  We'd contact Google about this issue to hear more but...as we've said, Gmail is down.
