Childhood sweethearts, 78 and 77, die of coronavirus within hours of each other

John, 78, and Ann Smith, 77, from Sunderland were together since the age of 15. They were admitted to Sunderland Royal Hospital and died within 29 hours of each other due to complications from Covid.
