US gov announces $2.1bn deal with pharma companies to make 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine

French drug maker Sanofi and British pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline will be paid up to $2.1 billion to supply the United States with enough vaccines for 50 million people, the government announced.
