UK coronavirus cases surge by 2,000 in a WEEK as the epidemic outstrips most of Europe

The 12 worst-hit European countries diagnosed a huge 53,000 cases in the past week and the UK's toll is growing at a rate slower only than furious outbreaks in Italy, Spain, France and Germany.
