Even though Trump has stated that his trade war with China definitely, definitely isn't being paid for by Americans (he promises), he still decided to delay some tariffs until December — just so Christmas isn't in any way impacted (you know, just in case the tariffs actually were being paid for by Americans after all).
Unsurprisingly, Stephen Colbert wasn't convinced by the president's about-turn.
"So again, they don't hurt Christmas shopping," the Late Show host says in the clip above, doing his best Trump impression. "But I'm delaying them so they won't hurt Christmas shopping.
