When u/tweak0 was a kid he was always horrified to go out with his father. Who would always act in an intolerable manner towards waitstaff. "My dad used to think of himself as a fancy, business-type gentle fellow. We'd go to restaurants and he'd try to order off-menu, at like a chain restaurant." Describes u/tweak0.He would then go on to describe more about his father's behavior and the absurd things that his father would try to do to distinguish himself from the rabble. As commenters point out, this kind of behavior is not distinguished and the types of people who do this are utterly intolerable. This type of behavior only makes customer service people and waitstaff remember you for how out of touch, trash, and bizarrely antisocial you are.So, please. If this is you and something that you think is a good idea. Just knock it off for the rest of our sakes.
