Being the center of attention in a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, human beings tend to enjoy a certain "je ne sais quoi" quality about them that lets them get away with amazing shit. In a discussion of humans in the Star Trek Universe specifically, this Tumblr thread went hard in the paint on what makes humans amazing and entertaining in that particular universe.
