Singtel saw the sharpest decline amongst top active stocks with a 3.08% contraction.
The Straits Times Index ended 17.91 or 0.71% lower at 2,487.56.
The top active stocks were DBS, which fell 1.85%, Singtel, which slumped 3.08%, OCBC Bank, which dropped 1.58%, UOB, which slid 1.45%, and SGX with a 0.56% increase.
The FTSE Mid Cap fell 0.35%, whilst the FTSE Small Cap slipped 0.85%.
